WSO and GEDCSB use music to teach life skills!
Windsor, ON – The Windsor Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is thrilled to partner with the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB) on Education Concerts, a music and instruction program for students.
Through performance, students learn active listening skills, and they are entertained as we use classical music to augment the provincial curriculum for their age group. WSO Assistant Conductor Francisco Hernández Bolaños guides students in learning what to listen for in each musical piece and answers any questions they may have.
Concert programs are prepared to meet curriculum needs, and target priorities identified by our local school boards. All concerts help students develop their active listening skills, as well as learning about audience etiquette.
“We love the energy of students as they participate in the education concerts. We know that we’re helping them to include music and the arts in their learning while at school and bring that into the future. We’re thrilled to be in partnership with the Greater Essex County District School Board in such a meaningful way.” Said Becky Ng, WSO Education & Outreach Manager.
