Audition Information WSYOs

Seating auditions for new student placement in both ensembles will be held on Sunday, October 19 and Sunday, October 26, 2025 at the the Armouries Building, UWindsor School of Creative Arts (353 Freedom Way, Windsor). Auditions will be held from 12:00-1:00pm, and new students and parents are welcome to attend the rehearsals taking place immediately after (WSJYO 1:00-2:15pm, WSYO 2:30-5:15pm).

Musicians of all levels, ages 8–18, are encouraged to audition. Please prepare a piece of your choice; this could include an excerpt of a solo for your instrument, your part from an ensemble piece, or another work of music. Please prepare two scales of your choice in any octave or rhythmic pattern. It is recommended that your solo piece be no less than 2 minutes and no longer than 10 minutes. Please bring a printed copy of your solo music.

The WSYO rehearses Sunday afternoons, from September through April.
