Joyous Voices to Fill the Capitol Theatre

WINDSOR – Voices and spirits will be lifted this weekend as the Windsor Symphony Orchestra (WSO) welcomes a new group of choristers to share the Capitol Theatre stage.

“This concert is a spectacular display of the beautiful voices we have here in Windsor along with the rich history shared with us by master storyteller, Lana Talbot,” explains WSO resident conductor, Geoffrey Larson.

The WSO’s Lift Every Voice concert takes place this Saturday morning.

Gospel singers from throughout the Essex area will come together to sing famous songs including Amazing Grace, Wade in the Water, and Lift Every Voice and Sing. The performance will also include vocal solos from Windsor’s own Flo Ndimubandi.

Talbot and the combined chorus will share music’s role in the journey to freedom for 19th century Essex County Black residents.

There are two performances of the WSO’s Lift Every Voice Family Series concert: 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Tickets for the concert are $5 for children and $10 for adults.

Founded in 1947, the WSO is a professional regional orchestra. It has a national reputation for its innovative programming with a strong commitment to Canadian performers, repertoire, and composers. The WSO’s home base is in downtown Windsor’s historic Capitol Theatre.
