150 Singers Perform with the WSO

Windsor, ON – This weekend the Windsor Symphony Orchestra shares the stage with over 150 singers from Windsor and Essex County; making this one of the largest collaborations held on stage at the Capitol Theatre.

Brahms’ German Requiem is filled with grand melodies and achingly beautiful tones. This 19th century masterpiece focuses on the feelings of processing grief, to comfort the living. The WSO performs alongside soprano Amelia Daigle, baritone Micah Schroeder, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the University of Windsor Singers, and the Windsor Classic Chorale — over 150 musicians and singers on stage!

Maestro Franz says, In writing his Requiem, Johannes Brahms chose to compose a work for the living. Uping the death of his mother, Brahms wrote this “human” requiem to express in the most profound way possible what it means to deal with the grief of losing a loved one. With nearly 150 musicians on stage, this concert will take you to a place of self-reflection and discovery.
