Windsor, ON – This weekend the Windsor Symphony Orchestra performs the Greek mythological tragedy, The Legend of Orpheus, featuring, orchestra, soloists, chorus, and St. Clair College music theatre program students. With over 100 performers on stage, the size of this cast is matched by the scale and scope of this ancient tale.
Maestro Robert Franz says, “When creating a production of an opera, one looks to view the opera in a fresh and illuminating light. The darkness of the early 19th century ‘steam-punk era’ along with that period’s ideals of love and eternal bliss provided us with the perfect foil to depict this story. The story feels historic and at the same time current and fresh.”
