Windsor, ON – Maestro Geoffrey Larson raises his baton to conduct the Windsor Symphony Orchestra (WSO) for the first time since joining the organization in July.
This week, Maestro Larson conducts 3 concerts titled Flavours of Vienna, performed at the Capitol Theatre. The program features Viennese composer Robert Fuchs, inspired by the music of the “Waltz King,” Johann Strauss Jr. In these concerts, Fuchs’ Serenade No. 3 is flanked by Strauss’ most beloved waltz, the rhythmic Emperor Waltz and the show-stopping Blue Danube.
WSO Assistant Conductor Geoffrey Larson says, “I’m thrilled to make my Canadian debut this week with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, conducting some of my favorite music from Vienna. I love the format of this program, as the experience of sitting onstage with the musicians gives such a unique and exciting perspective to our audience members.”
