INDY: Suite dans la style ancien (Suite in Olden Style)

What’s something interesting about this concert?

  • Copland’s score captures the essence of a city’s peaceful, reflective moments in contrast to its usual hustle and bustle. The piece was later re-arranged into its famous orchestral version, often performed with trumpet and English horn, which conveys a sense of solitude and contemplation.
  • D’Indy had a deep interest in music history and musicology. This influence can be heard in his Suite in an Ancient Style, as the work is not just a historical recreation but an imaginative and modern take on older musical traditions.

This concert is 60 minutes. No intermission.
Ticket includes a complimentary tea and coffee.
