A message from Assistant Concertmaster Konstantin Popović
The WSO is just 11% or $60,000 from its fundraising goal for its 75th season.
Over the next 4 weeks, the WSO will share messages from 4 musicians.
To help the season wrap up on a high note, donate today.
Dear WSO patrons,
I began my violin studies at the age of five in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. After immigrating to Toronto, I continued my studies at the University of Toronto in the music performance.
After graduating, I extended my orchestral studies as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the National Academy Orchestra until 2000, when I became the Assistant Concertmaster of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. That year, I also won an equivalent position in Sinfonia Toronto.
In the 23 years since, it has been a great pleasure to perform and reside in Windsor, greeting audiences from stage at the Capitol Theatre to connect through music. In 2019, I also joined Quartetto Gelato, the quartet that opened this season as guest artists of the 75th Birthday Bash concert. The warmth and support of WSO patrons and donors lifts us up and supports us to perform at concerts, schools, and long-term care homes.
This year, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra needs to raise $537,000 to meet its goals. Right now, we are just 11% or $60,000 from meeting that goal.
If you can, please consider a donation to the orchestra today. Every bit counts to keep the music playing.
With gratitude,
Konstantin Popović
