Canadian conductor Benoît Gauthier is recognized for the intensity, depth, and communicative power of his interpretations. In 2024, he received the prestigious Jean-Marie Beaudet Award in Orchestral Conducting from the Canada Council for the Arts, and in 2025 he was named one of CBC’s “30 Classical Musicians Under 30 to Watch.”

He recently made his New York debut at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center with the Curtis Institute Symphony Orchestra. Recent and upcoming engagements include the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Quebec Symphony Orchestra, Laval Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitain, Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, and the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, he studied with renowned artists including Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Robert Spano. Deeply committed to cultural development, he founded the Orchestre symphonique de la Côte-Nord at age 16, transforming it into a recognized institution known for ambitious programming, contemporary creation, and innovative touring projects across Northern Quebec.
