Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Platée was one of the most highly regarded of Rameau’s operas during his lifetime. Ballet was a huge part of 18th Century French Opera. Hear a dance suite from Platée. Two other French composers, François Colin de Blamont and Jean-Joseph Cassaneà de Mondonville round out the program with a concert of pre-revolutionary court music.
