Where are the rehearsals?
What it expected for rehearsals?
Learn your notes and rhythms before rehearsals. Always have a pencil with eraser and all your music. If you are a string player and share a stand, use the "outside" player's music. But inside players must also bring their music just in case.
How do I get music for auditions or for playing in the orchestra?
Email Daniel Wiley for audition music.
What about attendance?
Attendance at rehearsals is vital. Sometimes players will say, "I'll practice at home," but it's not the same. The orchestra needs to hear your part, and you need to learn together with the ensemble, listening and adjusting. If you must miss, please email Mr. Wiley by Thursday with a valid excuse. Please plan social activities around orchestra, not the other way around. If you have an emergency on rehearsal day, please text or phone Mr. Wiley.
What is the dress code for concerts?
WSYO - All black, dress clothes.
Men- black pants and shirt, black socks and black dress shoes.
Ladies - long or 3/4 length black dress or skirt or long formal black dress pants with black blouse (long or 3/4 sleeved, covered shoulders). Black dress shoes and black stockings.
WSJYO - White dress shirts (long sleeves), black pants (skirts optional for girls), black dress shoes and black stockings.
