WSO Cash Raffle
Tickets are $10 each, 2000 will be sold. They are available at WSO events and through the WSO Box Office.
DESCRIPTION OF DRAW
The Windsor Symphony Orchestra (WSO) will administer a Raffle for a Cash Prize of $5000 for the purpose of fundraising toward our annual musical and community programs. This raffle is a stub draw for two prizes: one, a cash prize of $5,000.00; and two, Season Tickets for two during the WSO 2017-2018 Season.
The prizes are referenced on the ticket. Tickets will be available for purchase from Saturday, February 5, 2017 to until 9:00 p.m. Saturday May 6, 2017.
RULES OF DRAW/ELIGIBILITY
a. To be eligible for this Raffle an individual must be of 19 years of age or older.
b. Windsor Symphony Orchestra staff, musicians, Board members and immediate families of staff, musicians and Board members residing in the same household are not eligible to participate in this Raffle and win any Prize. Immediate family shall include spouse, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and any other person residing within the same household. WSO volunteers, friends and family (not residing in the same household), are eligible to participate in the raffle and win the Prize/s.
c. Cheque or credit card used for the purchase of the ticket/s must be made payable to the WSO. If an entrant’s cheque is dishonoured by the bank, or payment by credit card is dishonoured by the card merchant, the entry will be declared invalid unless full payment is received and cleared, prior to the draw.
HOW TO ENTER
Upon purchasing a ticket/s, the purchaser shall retain the paper ticket portion and the stub portion shall be placed into the ballot drum located at WSO Offices by a WSO staff/representative. All stubs must be received by 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 for the 9:30 p.m. Draw Time. The draw will take place at the Capitol Theatre in the Pentastar after the intermission at the final concert of the WSO’s 2016-2017 season.
The WSO takes no responsibility for lost, delayed, stolen, destroyed or misdirected tickets.
PRIZE DRAW DATE
The Draw shall be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 9:30 p.m. (“Draw Time”), at the Capitol Theatre (“Draw Site”), at which time a WSO Volunteer Representative will randomly draw two (2) stubs from the ballot drum, located at the Draw Site. The ticket for the 1st prize of $5,000 will be drawn first. The winning ticket for the first prize will not be put back into the drum for the second draw. The selected entrants need not be present to win.
The winners of the prizes shall be determined by reference to the Name, Address and Telephone Number on the stub/s drawn. The selected entrant will be announced at the Draw Site and will be publicized on the WSO web site and on social media sites/pages/accounts administered by the WSO.
A News Release shall be sent out and the coverage received via this media release shall also reflect further announcements of the selected entrants. If the selected entrant is not present, he/she will be notified by telephone or by letter to the number and/or address provided on the ticket stub.
Prize/s shall be accepted as awarded on the draw date. A cash option will not be offered for the season tickets. Prizes are limited solely to those items explicitly set forth herein. Substitution or modifications of the prize shall not be permitted. The decision of the licencing authority shall be final on all matters concerning the raffle. All prizes must be claimed within two months of the draw date, namely July 7, 2017.
To claim a Prize, the selected entrant must attend, in person, at the offices of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, 121 University Avenue West Windsor ON, no later than July 7, 2017. Prize claims will take place only during business hours of 8:30 a.m. ET to 4:30 p.m. ET Monday to Friday.
In order to claim a Prize, the selected entrant will be required to present valid, government issued, photo ID and sign a standard declaration and release form, confirming: compliance with the contest rules; and acceptance of the Prize/s as awarded.
a. The Prizes will be drawn in the following order: (1) First Prize; (2) Second Prize. The winning ticket for the first prize will not be put back into to drum for the 2nd draw. The selected entrants need not be present to win.
b. The WSO shall be responsible for awarding the Prize and making all reasonable efforts to contact the selected entrants.
c. The paper stubs from the draw drum shall be secured or placed in safekeeping for a period of four (4) months following the draw date, namely September 7, 2017. If one or more of the Prizes are not claimed by the Prize Claim Deadline, it/they will be disqualified and another entrant will be drawn for that prize.
d. The WSO shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to the WSO for the purpose of the Raffle must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. WSO reserves the right, in their sole discretion; to disqualify any entrant should such an entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.
g. The odds of being selected depend on the total number of eligible entries accumulated for the draws. The total number of entries will not exceed 2000.
h. The paper stubs from the draw drum shall become the sole property of the WSO and will not be returned.
PRIVACY/USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
a. The personal information collected in the course of the Raffle will be used for the purposes of identifying selected Prize entrants and administering the Prizes.
b. By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to the use of his/her name, address, photograph, videotape, voice, signature and any likeness for advertising or publicity purposes and to the use of statement made by or attributed to the winner, provided same are true, relating to the WSO and any and all rights to said use without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
This Raffle is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws of Canada. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and the WSO in connection with the Raffle shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario including procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws.
